By now you’ve probably heard of the wonderfully effective, non-invasive method of lifting skin and reducing wrinkles: Ultherapy.
The procedure has made headlines for being the only non-invasive procedure FDA-cleared to lift skin on the neck, under the chin, and on the eyebrow, and FDA-cleared to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology, which has been used safely throughout the medical field for more than 50 years. Without the use of chemicals or needles, Ultherapy stimulates collagen production with zero downtime.
Some patients may see effects directly after treatment, but as collagen builds after treatment, real results take two to three months to radically reduce wrinkles and lift skin.
Before Your Treatment
While Ultherapy is safe and effective, it’s always best to talk to your skincare professional about whether or not a procedure is right for your problem or skin type. (To schedule a complimentary consultation with us, just use our online Ultherapy consultation request form.)
Once you’ve decided whether or not the treatment is right for you, all you have to do is show up for your treatment. You won’t need to follow any special preparations or skincare regimens in advance. Nice and easy!
During Your Treatment
After you arrive at the clinic, your skin will be cleansed and the skincare professional will identify the areas you’d like treated. Then, the warmed ultrasound gel will be applied to your skin via applicator.
Now the fun begins: the ultrasound is turned on. First, we will look deep into your skin layer to determine optimal placement of the treatment. Then, we begin applying ultrasound across the skin.
During the treatment, you will feel energy being moved through your skin. That tingling sensation indicates that the collagen-building process has been initiated.
Being non-surgical with the use of a safe, proven tool, Ultherapy requires no downtime. Unlike with a chemical peel, which has its own benefits for tightening skin, you will not experience any peeling after treatment. However, you may experience some slight redness immediately after treatment, which will dissipate quickly.
Some patients experience slight swelling, tingling, or tenderness to the touch, but these are mild and temporary.
