I don’t know about you, but I don’t often find myself swayed by celebrity endorsements. But what makes me sit up and notice is when a lot of them — with gorgeous, luminous skin — unanimously recommend the same facial. Cher, Naomi Campbell, Miley Cyrus, Eva Longoria, Kim Kardashian, Justin Timberlake, Katy Perry, Fergie, Robin Thicke … the list goes on.
What do they recommend? Intraceutical facials.
And if you do a little bit of homework, it’s easy to see why.
An Intraceuticals facial is gentle and suitable for all skin types. It is the perfect partner with and may enhance benefits of other therapies, such as microdermabrasion or a chemical peel. The facial aids in eliminating acne, rosacea, stretch marks, scarring, and fine lines.
The treatment is applied under hyperbaric pressure that allows skin to absorb the most oxygen and serum possible. The serum contains hyaluronic acid, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, and green tea. According to the manufacturer, these ingredients stimulate collagen and elastin production, and plump the skin surface.
Why Hyaluronic Acid?
Hyaluronic acid is an ingredient found naturally in skin, and it’s readily absorbed by skin lacking it. The acid adds moisture and plumpness to the skin.
It is one of the most powerful and effective anti-aging substances known to skin care professionals.
Why Hyperbaric Pressure?
Hyperbaric pressure has been known to the medical world for treatment of wounds and other ailments. It’s relatively new in the skin rejuvenation scene.
Applying oxygen under pressure bathes the body in oxygen, feeding oxygen-starved cells and stimulating blood flow. Increasing circulation in the skin helps rid the body of dead cells (and dull skin!).
And, no, we won’t be asking you to step into an iron lung or an actual hyperbaric pressure chamber. In the clinic, we use a wand that applies the pressure directly to your problem areas.
How the Treatment Works
There are four different types of Intraceutical treatments available. I’m going to focus on my favorite, Intraceuticals Rejuvenate Oxygen treatment.
In this treatment, there are three components that achieve that movie-star skin:
- Oxygen, which is applied under light pressure cools and calms the skin;
- Rejuvenate Serum, which instantly hydrates skin and contains essential ingredients for healthy skin like hyaluronic acid;
- And, post-treatment support products, which help achieve longer lasting results.
This gentle treatment has zero downtime and can be done at lunchtime.
