Have you ever tried to #iwokeuplikethis? Waking up flawless and selfie-ready can seem impossible, but it’s definitely within reach.
First and foremost, waking up ready for your close-up has nothing to do the makeup you put on the day before. In fact, that’s a quick way to age your face and ruin your pillows. So wash that face before you crash.
Second, think of all those “problem areas” that wash you out: sparse eyebrows, no defining eyelashes, faded lips, etc. Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t need to get out of bed to create contrast?
The perfect solution to this selfie mystery is micropigmentation, also known as permanent makeup.
The term “permanent makeup” is slightly misleading, however. The tattoo uses natural pigments, which can fade in less than five to seven years. And when applied to sensitive, often-used areas such as the lips, the micropigmentation treatment may need to be repeated annually.
Micropigmentation creates contrast and definition, just like makeup. And, just like makeup, you can go with a more natural look. I recommend going with the most natural look, even though it may require more frequent touch ups. That way, you wake up with an enhanced look without looking like you’re about to hit the clubs.
The most common pigmented areas include the eyes for eyeliner, eyebrows for browliner, and lips for achieving a darker shade. But micropigmentation also can be used for any type of contrast needed on your skin.
As with all other tattoos, there is some risk and some discomfort, but not nearly as much discomfort as with a conventional tattoo. Minimize your risk by scheduling a complimentary consultation with us to discuss your options.
If uneven skin tone is ruining your look, you might also consider the VI Peel.
