You don’t need a selfie app to “fix” your skin. What you need is a real fix: a quick, painless and, most important, effective solution so you look radiant on the small screen and in person with or without makeup.
Chemical peels have been around for a long time. They address sun damage, acne, fine wrinkles, and other blemishes. One of the best peels available is The VI Peel.
Here’s what you need to know about this great peel.
What is the VI Peel?
Produced by Vi Aesthetics, the VI Peel is a pharmaceutical-grade topical application that contains TCA for deep-scar healing, phenol for cleansing, salicylic acid for exfoliation, Retin-A to combat wrinkles, and vitamin C for antioxidant and exfoliation. There is a variety of intensities available, and the peel can be applied to the face, neck, hands, chest, and back. It is so safe that the peel can be applied to sensitive, wrinkle-prone areas like eyelids and under the eyes. The procedure is relatively painless with some patients reporting a tingling sensation. The peel produces visible results in days.
The Procedure
This is a very quick procedure. When you come into the clinic, your makeup will be removed and then the peel is applied over the area. Once the peel dries, there will be some redness that will begin to subside after 15 minutes. An hour after the procedure, there should only be a pinkish glow. If you want to see the procedure being done, check out this video from Vi Aesthetics showing Taylor Armstrong of “Real House Wives of Beverly Hills” getting a VI Peel in 2012.
After Your Treatment
For the next four hours, you should keep out of direct sunlight and apply nothing to your skin. After that time, you should apply a post-peel lotion two or three times daily for the next week. Keep the skin moist, continue to keep out of direct sunlight, and apply SPF 55. You may wear makeup four hours after the procedure.
On the third day after the procedure, you will begin to notice slight flaking at your nose and mouth. By the seventh day, you will have a fresh, new face with glowing skin.
The VI Peel’s results last longest when you are taking good care of your skin. That means sunscreen and keeping well moisturized (If you are unsure of your current management practices, ask your care specialist). I recommend having the VI Peel done several times a year to combat aging and keep your skin looking fresh.
